Our next round was at Brechin, just 15 minutes north of Kirriemuir on the A90.

Brechin is another Braid gem with as pleasant an outlook as its near neighbour.

The greens are the outstanding element here, reputedly the best in the county especially on the old Braid section.

They can be quite tricky to read with indiscernible bumps and hollows.

Brechin’s clubhouse is new and offers a fine level of catering so make time for lunch or high tea.
